Gorgeous ginger cat Sox survives the impawssible after vet's prescribing error, owners consider legal action: ‘That vet should be investigated and deregistered’

This is your reminder to always read the instructions on the prescription labels, feline fam. We know it can be a little overwhelming with all of that medical mumbo-jumbo on there, but you never know how disastrous one little mistake can be when it comes to medications. Unfortunately, we learned this lesson from purrsonal experience. After one of our cats got spayed, they needed some pain medication, but they needed to take it with food. She wasn't hungry, and we could tell she was in pain, so we gave it to her anyway, thinking it would be harmless. Needless to say, we rushed to the vet hours later only to be told our cat was zooted on pain meds. The vet said everything was fine, but we did pay a couple hundred bucks to just to be told our cat was flying high in the sky.

The story below is much less silly and much worse than ours. But it has a happy ending, so don't shy away! This meowrvelously fluffy ginger cat was the recipient of a vet precription error, which caused some serious health problems. However, his pawrents never gave up on him. He, quite literally, survived the impawssible. Now he's back to being his goofy, floofy self, and we couldn't be happier. The vet, on the other hand, can't say the same thing.

  • Oh, this poor orange lad! Nobody likes the hospital and being connected to all of those machines… but with purrsistence, a lot of love and care, and some luck, this little guy made it through. Now he's back home with his pawrents as happy and as healthy as ever!

  • We just assume that no medication can be taken on an empty stomach anymore. Also, we love to eat, so we're happy to have any excuse to have another meal.

But, you are also very lucky to have this boy in your life and to enjoy his love for longer. Wishing him a long life full of everything he loves. That vet should be investigated and deregistered.

    BlackHoleRed The feeling of having a pet go through so much and then come out on the other side is such a roller coaster. You are a truly wonderful human being for being willing to take financial care of your cat, and I can absolutely sympathize with that, once spent 14K on a kitty who lived another 6 years after and it was worth every penny.
